WHY TAKE LECTURE NOTES
↳Promote active listening by helping you concentrate on the lecture.
↳Provides an accurate record of information that was presented in class.
↳Helps yo to organize the information.
↳Provides additional repetition.


HOW TO TAKE LECTURE NOTES?
- Prepare before taking notes
   Read the text assignment before class.
-Become an active listener
   Focused on the lecturer speak.


STRATEGIES FOR IMPROVING LISTENING SKILLS
Read before the lecture to build background on the topic.
Review your last set of notes before the lecture begins.
Sit in the lecturer's line of vision.
Decide what you want to listen.
Focus your attention(sitting up / making eye contact with the speaker).
Listen with an open mind,setting aside your own biased.
Control your emotional responses.
Listen for the main points and details and take notes.
Ask and answer questions.
Monitor your listening. Check with lecturer or classmate.

🔖CORNELL NOTE-TAKING
       Cornell method involves dividing a sheet of paper into 3 part:
             LEFT COLUMN for main ideas and keywords
             RIGHT COLUMN for lengthier details 
             SECTION IN THE BOTTOM for writing a summary after the lecture or lesson

     Useful for showing major points and supporting ideas.

🔖THE BLOCK METHOD
     -Block notes are especially useful if you need to record a great deal of information very quickly.
    -Block notes are written continuously across the page,separating the details by dashes(-)or slashes(/).

      Having all of the information grouped under a heading without showing various levels of support as in an outline.

🔖MAPPING METHOD
     Mind maps are commonly drawn from a central point,purpose or goal in the center of the page and branching outward to identify all the ideas connected to that goal.


3 WAYS TO REVIEW YOUR NOTES.
-Recite from the heading.
-Recite from the recall questions.
-Talk about the information with others.
